The Fruit Tree
The fruit tree
Fruiting pears, apples
Peaches,
White blossom
Falling like flakes of snow ...
See God go to the
Heart of the fruit tree
In-ringed and continuously
Fruiting - see God within
Core and widening;
In the tongue's pith;
In circumference;
In the kernel that halves
Itself and grows;
In the seedflare of light
Struck into spirit live and
Breathing on the
Inside. It goes
All the way through
From back to back, from
Full to hollow, sequestered in
Inception, birth, growth
And return: wellspring
At the core of meaning
In the roll of God's
Turning world:
The fruit on the branch
Of the fruit tree
Fruiting apples, pears
Peaches,
White blossom
Falling like flakes of snow ...
See God go
