The Living Man

footsteps recede up the
stairs as the door
closes on the stars and
sharp air - my
heart is in my
mouth with waiting
for the energy the
life infusion and the
closet eyes we share - our
chained words our
bond of speech and silence
transaction of hands
the body press the
closeness, and I
never want this to end this
exchange of life and
time spending like
coins through our fingers,
The sun receded, ran
back and time stood still
at our backs as we
faced each other and
won, lovers, friends, the
thought of you lingers
expressive of your
absence as I
pulse the seconds
and magnify all
you are and all
you mean to my
works and days your
presence
special in my place
my living man
