Silver and Blue

Yesterday was silver and blue,
today is green and grey
and, like a blanket in winter
that chafes the skin, I am
touched by all who are away -
who flew through today
in the here and now; I feel
I never knew you, never had
the chance to say, to colour
the worlds together, to understand
the difference and
to love anyway -

now I don't know what
you would have me do
or who to be - I don't know if
the things I had were what
you hoped for me, or
I misled all the turns
each time
always went the wrong way
