Shedding

I have layers of
Clothes and I wear
Them  all at once
My  t-shirts shirts
Jumpers  coats woollens
Stuff themselves
Round  my  body
Make  me  thick,
Unwieldy, I cannot
Lift my arms and
Legs  my heart
Beats slowly beneath
This weight
I perambulate
Walk  like an
Inflated dummy
Cannot  relate
To  this
Leaden  fatness
Fastened onto
My  limbs.

I would be
A  balloon
Filled with
Light and
Air;
I would
Float
From  here
And  shed
These  layers;
Peel myself free.
