Sanctuary VI_The Garden
Soil and gardens
Trowel and spade
Bending pulling
Weeds, weeding, weeding
Gloves on
Oh the back-breaking
Heft of it, the
Barrowloads of
Shit I've dumped, the
Wielding of secateurs
To clip my
Bushes and my trees.
The banks need
Cutting and the
Shrubs all untended -
Rhododendrons
Beginning to run riot.
Oh my garden
Is too big for one
And the weeding and the
Growing - gloves
On it seems as if my
Toil and care are never done.
Oh but the peonies now, my
Gorgeous peonies lush and white.
