Rapunzel

Oh its a rare teir
here, I am here
in the quiet
in the cool fresh air
a wing and a prayer
I landed fair
reached the top of the stair
only cloud for companion
at the height

way down in the canyon
I see the old roads
former abodes
all the effort, all the toads
I never travelled light
heavy-hearted perhaps
avoiding traps
with too much care
layer upon layer I built my tower

Rapunzel I am
I made it to my room:
a room with a view
a beautiful bower

and all the heart
and all the years
all the breaks, all the mistakes
they made it here too.
I smile. I comb my beautiful hair.
