Questions I
insanity, inhumanity, is everywhere
polluted air, lack of care
once forest rain, now acid tears
the animal cries for the human it fears
we take, take life, take it all for granted
is what we are now, really what we wanted?
fishing the seas to overkill
the technological power of will
is callousness, the fuel of commercial greed
the farming-blind who waste the seeds
of nature's fruit for money - and all our worth
is built upon the backs of those who starve
how can we measure who we are, our heritage
is lost, our lack of human community laid bare
by our newspapers, our TV screens: we will perish
without sanity, without care, it is our souls we famish
