Fog

There was rain overnight - I leant
on the sill with the open window
and watched it fall, breathed-
in the damp green cool air. Awoke
today to a white world: dripping
fog seeps everywhere - the clouds
have come down to muffle the
village and the green, white
fingers ooze into corners - all
is smothered and quiet.

In here I have my colour:
my pinks, reds, greens and
blues. I will live with
colour on my fingers today
and the fire. It will breathe.
