let me

let me tune-in to the silence
to the deep silence of my
own heart; let me not
fill the void, fill the roomy
air with words and screams
from screens and the restless
tap-tap-tap of my own fingers

let me drink-in the day
the way a tree drinks-in water
with a small rustle of the
leaves and with deep roots
sipping at the fertile land

let me learn how to live with
myself, moment to moment,
communing with the wind
booming in the chimney, my
dear eyes basking in the
beauty of the green beyond
my window, not needing
any thing to place me here
except my waiting breath
